I am his daughter and I can just imagine about his childhood, recalling what I heard from him and some of his relatives. Yet I am so much fascinated about everything that I know about him, I am bound to write it.
He was born in a village-- Panchobh, which is situated in Darbhanga district of Bihar [India]. Born in a landlord's family, Anoop, [my father] was a soft nature boy. In stead of rebuking and ordering his servants like his other brothers and cousins did, Anoop had befriended their children too. His cousins made fun of him for this. At the time when other brothers collected ripen mangoes from the orchard, Anoop sat down under a tree and admired the beauty of the green trees and bright fruits. He liked sitting in the orchard for hours and wrote his first poem-- "Sinuriya aam [a type of mango]
The signs of his creativity were clear from the very childhood. Anoop used to make sentences sound rhythmic whenever he said anything in jolly mood. He loved poems and recited poems loudly. He was in the first batch of his village school, and he had won heart of his teachers with his bold and melodious voice. By the time he reached in class eighth, all teachers had realized that Anoop had some potentials to be a great leader as well as poet.
